Job Description

Location: The Gables Residential Home, 31 Highfield Road

Are you an experienced and compassionate carer looking to make a real difference during the most important stage of someone’s life? We are seeking a dedicated Senior Carer with experience in care to join our committed team. This is a rewarding role where you’ll support residents with life-limiting conditions, ensuring they receive comfort, dignity, and quality care in their final days.


Responsibilities

* Providing high-quality, person-centred palliative and end-of-life care
* Supporting residents with personal care and emotional reassurance
* Supervising and mentoring care staff to maintain best practice
* Liaising with families, GPs, nurses, and palliative care professionals
* Monitoring residents wellbeing and promptly responding to changes
* Upholding dignity, respect, and sensitivity at all times


What We’re Looking For

* NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
* Prior experience in a senior carer
* Compassionate, calm, and emotionally resilient nature
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* A genuine commitment to person-centred care


Desirable (but Not Essential)

* End-of-life care training (e.g., Gold Standards Framework, Six Steps)
* Experience supporting families through bereavement
* Knowledge of Advance Care Planning and DNACPR processes

Requirements

* This role is primarily working night shifts with occasional day shifts. Are you able to commit to night shifts?
* NVQ, Diploma, RQF level 3 in Health and Social Care
