The Role
Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools are currently recruiting a Teacher of English to join The Stewart Melville College on a temporary, part‑time basis from 5 January (or as soon after as possible) until 26 June 2026, subject to satisfactory pre‑employment checks. The role is part‑time, working equivalent to 0.4 FTE in a job‑share arrangement, term time, with remuneration dependent on qualifications and experience. The candidate will work at the Queensferry Road site.
The successful candidate must be GTCS‑registered, hold a subject‑specific degree level qualification, and have familiarity with Scottish qualifications. They should be an excellent practitioner, highly organised, capable of multitasking while maintaining high standards and fostering positive relationships within the school community.
Eligibility
ESMS is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. International applicants will therefore be unable to apply for and secure a Skilled Worker visa. The successful candidate will only be able to take up this role if they can demonstrate an alternative right to work in the UK.
