Job Overview
Our client in the North East of England is seeking a NRSWA Inspector to join their team on an initial 6‑month contract. The role offers a competitive rate of £30 per hour and includes a company van for site travel. This position is well‑suited for individuals with experience in street works inspection, compliance, and utilities, looking for a hands‑on role with varied responsibilities across a busy road network.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspection of Works: Conduct daily inspections of street and road works, including those carried out by utility companies and other contractors, to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
* Internal Works Monitoring: Inspect works including pothole repairs and footway resurfacing.
* Inspection Management: Utilize provided tablet to record inspections, track progress, and generate reports.
* Coordination: Work alongside contractors, local teams, and management to ensure the safe and effective delivery of works.
* Compliance: Ensure that all work activities comply with relevant regulations, including NRSWA and traffic management guidelines.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Street Works Experience: Proven experience in street works inspection or coordination, particularly within utilities or civil engineering projects.
* NRSWA Supervisor Qualification: Essential for the role, or willingness to obtain.
* Health & Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of health and safety practices, including risk assessments and method statements.
* Experience with Utilities & Civils: Background in utilities or civils works is highly desirable.
* Local Authority Experience: Previous experience working with local authorities or statutory undertakers is an advantage.
