Overview
My client manufactures and supplies a wide range of pipeline pigs and pipeline plugs to leading offshore and onshore companies worldwide. The focus includes concept feed and R&D, detailed design and engineering, manufacture and testing, and project management. There is an opportunity within the company for a mechanical design/project engineer.
The role is within the engineering/projects department and is a flexible position with involvement across all aspects/products within the business.
Responsibilities
* Creating design models & production drawings using AutoCAD (2D) or SolidWorks (3D) for concept designs and existing products.
* Assistance in preparing operational manuals, engineering studies & datasheets.
* Assembly of products – assisting the project at the build stage.
* Testing of products (e.g., pressure testing, function testing) to confirm client specifications.
* Assistance with project documentation.
Qualifications
* A degree in Mechanical / Design Engineering.
* Proficient in 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D (SolidWorks) design packages, with ability to perform hand calculations and support designs.
* Strong design/technical capability and sound knowledge of engineering principles.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
* Knowledge/interest in mechanical engineering and oil & gas operations.

* Self-motivated candidate with attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple design projects to stringent timescales/deadlines.
