The Role - This is a full-time hybrid role based out of the Warrington office, with flexibility for work-from-home arrangements. As a Geo-Environmental Consultant, you will conduct site investigations, review and interpret data, prepare detailed reports, and undertake monitoring. Site investigation work will include supervision of trial pitting, window sampling and drilling.
You will be working both in project teams and on your own and will need to demonstrate initiative and ingenuity to problem solve and deliver for clients.
Responsibilities
Sampling and Monitoring: Performing soil and rock logging, collecting soil and groundwater samples, and conducting ground gas and groundwater monitoring.
Site Investigations: Organising and conducting intrusive ground investigations, site walkovers, and supervising contractors.
Data Analysis: Collecting, managing, and interpreting laboratory data to assess environmental risks.
Report Writing: Assisting with the preparation of factual and interpretive reports, including Phase 1 desktop studies and Phase 2 geo-environmental assessment reports.
Risk Assessment and Remediation: Contributing to human health and controlled waters risk assessments and assisting in the development of remediation strategies.
Project Support: Supporting project managers with planning, budgeting, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Health and safety: Compliance with health and safety policies, production of RAMS and manage site-specific health and safety plans.
Qualifications and experience
Previous experience in site work and being comfortable with supervising small – medium site investigations.
Proficiency in report writing with attention to detail.
Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to analyse complex data sets.
Excellent communication skills for collaboration with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
Relevant degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Desired: Knowledge of UK environmental regulations and standards.
Desired: Experience in waste classification and Materials Management Plans.
