Overview
Health Visitor Team Leader role at NHS Scotland. The post sits within Public Health with the aim to improve health and social wellbeing by taking a population-wide perspective and tackling inequalities. The post holder will be accountable for a caseload, provide Public Health expertise, and be a key member of the integrated Primary Care team and other multi-disciplinary groups as required.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the attached/aligned community nursing team and other nursing staff groups, linking to the locality management structure.
* Provide effective leadership, professional and operational management, expert clinical and professional supervision and support for Health Visitors/SCPHNs and staff within the HV team, including caseload management, child protection advice and management, professional practice, child development, maternal health, infant feeding and infant mental health.
* Accountable for the effective and efficient professional and operational management of the implementation and delivery of the full Universal Pathway by Health Visitors/SCPHNs.
* Be a Registered Health Visitor/SCPHN; contribute as a clinical expert and part of the integrated Primary Care team and other multi-disciplinary groups as required.
What you\'ll bring
* Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin and demonstrable post-registration experience
* Registered Health Visitor/Specialist Practitioner Qualification in Public Health Nursing
* Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters level
* Evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality (e.g., study days, courses, postgraduate qualification)
* Specialist knowledge/CPD in Public Protection and trauma-informed practice (e.g., Adverse Childhood Experiences)
* Expert knowledge of health visiting practice and complex child protection risk assessment
* Knowledge and interpretation of child protection guidance, policies and national legislation to protect children and staff
* Specialist knowledge and application of quality improvement (QI) methodology; experience in staff supervision and development of QI and training
* Strong leadership, teamwork and the ability to motivate others and work on your own initiative
* Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent time management skills
* Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence

* Contract type: Permanent

* Hours: 37 per week
* Location: Carluke Community Health Centre (Clydesdale Locality)
* Working pattern: Monday to Friday
