Overview
To be an efficient and flexible member of the Histopathology laboratory team providing a high quality diagnostic service through supporting the scientific and technical activities of qualified members of staff.
Responsibilities
* To participate in the routine duties of the Histopathology Department, as part of a team, under the direction and supervision of Biomedical Scientists (BMS 1 and above) ensuring compliance with Departmental Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
* To rotate through assigned sections of the laboratory as required.
* Main duties: receipt, sorting, organisation and data entry for a wide variety of diagnostic tissue samples submitted to the Department for investigation and to assist with specimen preparation.
