About the Role:
Robert Half are working with a Manufacturing client near Oldbury as they search for a motivated and detail-oriented
Accounts Assistant
to join their finance team. This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to work in a supportive environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the sales ledger and credit control functions, with additional responsibilities across the wider accounts team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and maintain the sales ledger, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing
* Credit control: monitoring outstanding debts, chasing overdue payments, and maintaining customer relationships
* Support with purchase ledger duties including processing supplier invoices, reconciling statements, and assisting with payment runs
* Assist with bank reconciliations and cash allocations
* Help prepare monthly accounts and support financial reporting as required
* Respond to internal and external finance-related queries in a timely manner
* General administrative support within the finance team
Requirements:
* You have 12–18 months of relevant experience in an accounts/finance role
* Experience in manufacturing or a similar sector - Essential
* Strong understanding of sales and purchase ledger processes
* Good working knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Self-motivated and eager to learn with a proactive attitude
* Able to work well independently and as part of a team
Hours of Work/Holidays:
* Mon – Thursday 0745 – 1645hrs
* Friday 0745 – 1245hrs
