· Liaise directly with our customers (internal and external) to identify their needs and provide project support and technical advice, promoting the company brand through the production of high-quality visuals or drawings to communicate designs and present to our customers.
· Design, develop and detail feasible rooflight and roof window solutions, and their associated products, for manufacture and assembly to customer specification.
· Produce fully detailed 3D models, in SolidWorks or OnShape, for manufacturing purposes and any required documentation for production, to include 2D drawings, production manuals and bill of materials.
· Undertake all necessary simulations, thermal calculations and prototyping to ensure products are fit for purpose.
· Collaborate and support our internal teams and suppliers using a practical hands-on approach where required, to ensure successful delivery of projects to agreed quality and cost.
· Take ownership of own workload, working to a well organised and dynamic pace, completing all tasks to agreed timescales and to the agreed quality standards.
· Positive and professional communication with all colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
What you’ll need to show us…
· Degree qualified in Product Design or Industrial Design, or similar discipline.
· Minimum 18 months industry experience (exc. work placements).
· Experience using 3D CAD software (Solidworks or similar).
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
· Flexible, energetic, with a sense of urgency and a result-driven approach to working.
· A well organised individual with excellent communication and presentation skills.
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, including applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
· An interest in architecture or construction.
· Full driving licence (as you may be required to travel to visit our customers and suppliers).
Working hours: Permanent, full-time (37.5hrs p/w). Mon-Fri 8:00-16:30 or 8:30-17:00.
Once training is complete, hybrid working (min 40% office based). Additional days in the office or on site / customer visits may be required and will be in agreement with the line manager and project requirements.
