Overview
The security of information is critical to the ongoing success and reputation of the business. The role of Cyber Security Analyst Apprentice will offer the successful candidate an exciting opportunity to work closely with the business across a broad range of activities (projects, new product developments, business processes, stakeholder advice and strategy) to ensure that information is used in a secure and appropriate manner. The role involves working in a challenging and fast paced environment on topics ranging from technical security elements to understanding assurance processes and ensuring security guidelines are maintained and met. This role will ensure that technological and organisational security practices are consistent with ISO27001, NIST 800-53, MOD and other government standards. You will become familiar with security standards and practices including scanning and protective monitoring, access control systems, CCTV systems, security models and architectures and information security threats. The role is part of the core security team that delivers and drives continual service improvement across the business, ensuring delivery of best of breed compliant security services in the most effective and efficient manner. You will report directly to the Lead Security Analyst and work with local security and operational teams to ensure processes are followed to meet internal customer and external requirements and certifications. This role is 5 days a week in the office and after a period of assessment will include on‑call rotation with other Analysts.
Responsibilities
* Review of security control application effectiveness of Prolinx and its customers.
* Review of security incidents and ensure correct closure and future prevention.
* Assist in local InfoSec reviews and feedback from external audits.
* Help drive security and compliance awareness across the business.
* Involvement in Operational Security Services such as SOC, SIEM, Penetration Testing & Vulnerability scanning. Review, interpret and act upon information provided by E365 security toolsets.
* Hold valid security clearance or be eligible to undergo the process to achieve the desired level of security clearance, including the highest level.
* A self-starter, keen to learn and be proactive in driving forward security for the benefit of the business.
Qualifications and Experience
* Good understanding of IT security.
* Basic knowledge of Windows, MS 365, Linux, virtualization, networking and storage and a working knowledge of E365 Security toolsets.
* Good communication and presentational skills.
* Experience with security related technologies, processes, methods or architectures.
* An A‑Level in ICT or an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 ICT or an A‑Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject or a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits).
* You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation for the programme. If you hold international equivalents, you must provide official documentation showing how your qualifications compare to UK qualifications.
