Overview
We are seeking an Oracle DBA to join our client's team in Manchester, UK. Hybrid model.
Responsibilities
* Administer, monitor, and maintain multiple Oracle Database environments (11g, 12c, 19c, etc).
* Perform database performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning to ensure high availability and reliability.
* Implement and manage infrastructure automation for database provisioning, patching, and configuration using PowerShell, Terraform/Ansible.
* Manage OLAP systems and support business intelligence and data warehouse (DWH) operations.
* Oversee backup, recovery, disaster recovery (DR), and data replication strategies.
* Support migration and integration of Oracle databases into Azure Cloud environments
* Manage database security, including user access, roles, auditing, and data encryption.
* Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide root cause analysis for performance and reliability incidents.
* Work collaboratively with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to ensure database best practices across the enterprise.
* Participate in on-call rotations and provide out-of-hours support as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
* 5+ years hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise-scale environments.
* Strong understanding of Oracle DBA architecture, RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and RMAN.
* Proven expertise in performance tuning
* Experience with automation scripting using PowerShell, Python, or similar tools.
* Familiarity with IaC and DevOps principles (Terraform, Ansible, or Azure DevOps).
* Knowledge of OLAP/DWH concepts, partitioning, and ETL processes.
* Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud Services, especially for database hosting and management.
* Strong understanding of database security, compliance, and patch management.
* Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL development and debugging.
