What you will do:
1. Our Mortgage Telephone Business Development Managers are the face and voice of Metro Bank for the mortgage intermediaries, responsible for delivering excellent service to our customers.
2. Be a key point of contact for the mortgage broking community, by building relationships while promoting the specialist proposition to grow our mortgage business.
3. Work as part of a team responsible for our mortgage intermediary panel, as well as working alongside field-based Business Development Managers (BDMs) - with outbound proactive activity (welcome calls, new business queries, understanding business needs and educating mortgage intermediaries, virtual team meetings, etc).
4. Proactively develop new intermediary relationships within your defined areas and working alongside your allocated BDMs.
5. Identify new opportunities whilst developing and maintaining strong business relationships.
6. Provide an excellent and professional service to Mortgage Intermediaries, ensuring a full understanding of our mortgage proposition and our target market, within our SLAs.
7. Plan 2-3 weeks ahead, but reacting to changes in the market, in particular rates, new products, and specific business needs as they occur.
8. Understand the regulatory obligations of the intermediary mortgage channel, the wider mortgage and banking sector.
9. Work with the wider mortgage telephony team supporting with complex enquiries, training and other requirements as the business needs.

What you will need:
1. Excellent mortgage knowledge and understanding gained in a previous role within a banking or similar financial services organisation.
2. Extensive mortgage intermediary experience, ideally gained in a similar telephony role.
3. Established mortgage product and policy knowledge, including up-to-date knowledge of compliance and mortgage regulation.
4. Proven ability to build lasting relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
5. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and the confidence to work independently.
6. Ideally CeMAP qualified.
7. Clearly passionate about developing your career within mortgages.
