Hourly Paid Lecturer in Therapeutic Counselling
Bridgend College invites applications for an hourly paid Lecturer in Therapeutic Counselling. This role supports and inspires the next generation of counselling professionals through high-quality teaching, mentorship, and academic guidance.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging sessions for counselling programmes, including Level 4 and Level 5 Diplomas.
* Assess learner progress and support individual development in both academic and professional contexts.
* Ensure students develop practical skills, theoretical understanding, and self-awareness for professional practice.
* Be a registered/accredited member of a professional body such as the BACP, UKCP, or National Counselling Society, with current practice experience.
* Demonstrate experience of working with young people and, ideally, a PGCE or willingness to work towards one.
* Contribute to a supportive learning environment that motivates learners toward successful counselling careers in professional practice.
Qualifications
* Recognised qualification in therapeutic counselling (minimum Level 6).
* Current membership of a professional body such as the BACP, UKCP, or National Counselling Society with active practice experience.
* Experience working with young people and an openness to work towards a PGCE (or equivalent).
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage a diverse student population.
Salary and Contract
* Unqualified: £25,371 - £29,942 per annum (pro rata, hourly paid)
* Qualified: £32,304 - £49,934 per annum (pro rata, hourly paid)
* Contractual hours: 0 (casual, ad hoc basis to fit service needs)
* Basis: Casual
Other Information
* Enhanced DBS disclosure for child and adult workforce is required.
* Registration as an FE Teacher with the Education Workforce Council.
