Based in Surrey our client is a privately owned technical consultancy specialising in the national security and defence sectors. The Role This client is hiring now for summer/autumn 2026 starts. Working as a graduate hardware engineer for this company you will be involved in very hands-on, cutting edge projects for their clients. Your work will be varied and could include designing PCBs or implementing processing solutions in FPGAs. Designs vary from low-power microcontroller designs to high-rate network processing solutions incorporating multiple FPGAs and CPUs. Due to the nature of the work the client requires you to be in their offices 5 days a week and doesn't offer hybrid/flexible working. You need to be able to be eligible for UK Govt DV clearance. Requirements You will have a strong academic background, ideally at master's or PhD level, although bachelors candidates will also be considered (or equivalent) An interest in FPGA development in VHDL, PCB design and layout or embedded software development in C/C++ You will need to have A grades in maths and physics (or other relevant subjects) at A-Level (or equivalent) You must hold a UK passport and meet the criteria for UK GOVT security clearance
