About The Team
The team of pension administrators offers a full range of services to trust‑based corporate pension schemes, including defined benefit, defined contribution, career average revalued earnings and hybrid schemes. Key services include scheme administration, communication, scam identification, payroll, accounting, de‑risking projects and technical consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
* Train and support other team members.
* Assist less experienced colleagues and check their work.
* Meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
* Calculate and pay scheme benefits in line with the Rules.
* Maintain membership records and documentation.
* Apply benefit structures, Trust Deed & Rules and current pensions legislation.
* Carry out project work as directed by the Team Leader or Manager.
* Liaise with clients, scheme actuaries, consultants, providers, payroll members and third parties.
* Provide technical information verbally and in writing.
* Ensure ISO and AAF accreditation compliance.
* Update the database to keep records accurate.
* Respond to member enquiries by phone, email, and letter.
* Support the Administration team/manager.
* Prioritise work to meet target dates.
* Be flexible and undertake additional duties as required.
Essential Profile
* Experience in a similar role dealing with DB schemes.
* Experience within the pensions industry.
* Ownership, responsibility and accountability for own work.
* Organised, methodical and logical approach to delegated tasks.
* Support high standards, excellent quality and customer responsiveness.
* Develop administrators and processes.
* Be a knowledge reference point.
* Plan flexibly and follow through.
* Proactive, driven, committed.
* Effective communication skills.
* Can‑do attitude and pride in work.
* Attention to detail.
* Computer literacy: MS Office (Excel, Word).
Qualifications
* Strong Maths and English GCSE or equivalent (minimum grade B/6).
* Ideally A Level or equivalent; experience‑based candidates are considered.
* Studying for or willing to study a relevant pension qualification (e.g., CPC, QPA, DPC, RPC, APMI).
Desirable
* A good decision maker with sound judgement.
* A problem solver dealing with practical and political issues.
* Effective delegation.
* Professional qualification exam successes and ongoing progress toward full qualification.
