We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Measham Redbank team in the position of Maintenance Engineer.
The role holder will play an active part in the maintenance of manufacturing process plant and equipment, to ensure all electrical and mechanical equipment is serviceable and safely maintained in accordance with legislative and company requirements. Safely maintaining minimum downtime in order to provide availability of equipment for the production teams and to work with the teams to diagnose faults and to optimise efficiency. The role requires 100% proactive commitment to zero harm working
Your duties would include but not limited to the following:
* Before starting work ensure that your competences skills and training are correctly matched to the maintenance job in hand.
* All Risk assessments and Safe Systems of work and permits to work must be adhered to and no work is to take place if these are not in place. Deficiencies to be reported to the Engineer in charge before proceeding. To ensure that all substances used are properly labeled and their proper usage is understood according to COSHH data and risk assessment.
* To assist with fault diagnosis and repair within your level of skills, competence and training.
* Rectify all stoppages/malfunctions asking for assistance when needed.
* Ensure all appropriate P.P.E is worn at all times.
* Ensure all housekeeping duties are carried out as and when required.
* Report all irregularities and deficiencies in health & safety issues to immediate supervisor or Line manager.
* To be fully aware and understand Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work related to your job/area of work.
Electrician Duties
* To form part of the Maintenance team, and ensure that:
* You are competent for the tasks allotted.
* The electrical distribution system is constructed, protected and maintained such as to prevent danger.
* All electrical equipment is properly marked as to its function.
* That all electrical work is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and you fully understand the regulations and your personal duties and responsibilities.
Fitter Duties
* To form part of the Maintenance team, and ensure that:
* You are competent for the tasks allotted.
* As part of the team, you are responsible for the safe installation, maintenance and repair of plant and equipment.
* No guard or safety device is removed, defeated or otherwise rendered inoperative as any part of any maintenance procedure or diagnostic check unless the plant or equipment is effectively isolated from all power sources or until an equally safe system of work has been adopted.
* Any maintenance request affecting the health and safety of the workforce is promptly and efficiently attended to.
Machinist Duties
* To form part of the Maintenance team, and ensure that:
* You are competent for the tasks allotted.
* Develop and maintain equipment for production processes, i.e milling, grinding, etc.
About You:
The job requires no formal education or qualification, the role does require a minimum of 3 months (12 months for Hand Moulder) training from competent operator ensuring close supervision during the period, and a competency check procedure completed on all duties.
