Main duties of the job
This exciting new post at Morriston hospital comes with a range of key responsibilities and duties.
The role requires independent working, strong leadership, alongside excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will engage with staff at all levels, both internally and externally to the organisation, and handle complex and sensitive information with professionalism and care.
As a Senior Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in the medicine management at ward level. You will actively engage in discharge prescription assembly, checking prescriptions dispensed at the ward level, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective supply of medicines for inpatients and discharging patients.
Continuous professional development, teamwork, and the ability to handle challenging situations will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of pharmaceutical care.
You will also be required to participate in weekend, Bank Holiday and out of hours rotas as dictated by the needs of the service
Overall, your role as a Senior Pharmacy Technician will be critical in ensuring patient safety, providing high-quality pharmaceutical services, and supporting the smooth functioning of the pharmacy department within Morriston Hospital.
