We are currently recruiting Drivers Mates to assist with kitchen and white goods deliveries across the UK. Working from our Darlington depot, you will be part of a two-person delivery team, providing a high-quality, room-of-choice delivery service to residential customers.
Our client is a third-party provider of transportation and logistics services that offers a range of services from, Drayage, Global freight forwarding & Full truckload transport. The company is committed to environmental sustainability and works with customers to create action plans to reduce emissions.
This is a physically demanding role with early starts and long days. Applicants must be physically fit and capable of heavy lifting (up to 5 tonnes per day), often involving stairs or flats. A valid UK Driving Licence is essential, as you may be required to drive a van.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the driver in delivering kitchen units and white goods (cookers, dishwashers, washing machines, etc.)
2. Deliver items to specific rooms inside customers' homes
3. Operate a handheld device to scan deliveries and capture photos for proof of delivery
4. Uphold a 'white glove' delivery standard - being professional, careful, and courteous
