NHS Lanarkshire Neonatal Nurse Contract Type: Temporary Shifts: Day and Night shifts available Working as a neonatal nurse, your day-to-day tasks may include: Monitoring and managing the vital signs of premature or critically ill newborns, including temperature, heart rate, and breathing Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians Providing feeding support to newborns who may have difficulties nursing or require specialised feeding methods Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including neonatologists, paediatricians, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for each infant Educating and supporting families on neonatal care practices, including feeding techniques, monitoring infant growth and development, and addressing any concerns or questions Performing specialised procedures, such as placing intravenous lines or assisting with respiratory support equipment Ensuring a sterile and safe environment for newborns to minimise the risk of infection or complications Providing emotional support to families during what can be a stressful and emotionally challenging time Essential Qualifications: We are looking a neonatal nurse with: NMC Registration. At least 2 years post-graduate experience. 6 months recent NHS experience within the last 3 years. The ability to pass an enhanced background check.
