Job Role: Residential Childcare Tutor / Assessor Location: Milton Keynes / Surrounding Areas & Counties Salary: £30,000 - £33,500 per year Contract: Permanent, full time Working Environment: Hybrid delivery with a blend of remote sessions and local learner visits Role Overview We are seeking a passionate and experienced Residential Childcare Tutor / Assessor to deliver high‑quality teaching, learning, and assessment to adult learners working towards Residential Childcare qualifications up to and including Level 5. This hybrid role combines remote delivery with occasional face‑to‑face learner visits across Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas and counties. Typically, Assessors carry out up to three in‑person visits per month, with flexibility based on caseload, distance, and learner needs. You will support learners through a structured, personalised, and compliant learning journey from induction to completion, ensuring they develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to succeed within the Residential Childcare sector. We also welcome applications from individuals with strong sector experience who wish to transition into a training/assessment role. Full training will be provided, with a starting salary of £25,500 car allowance. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging, high‑quality teaching, learning, and assessment in Residential Childcare up to Level 5. - Support and motivate learners to achieve timely progression and successful qualification completion. - Conduct initial assessments to determine learner starting points and create individual learning plans. - Provide tailored support through a blend of remote delivery and face‑to‑face visits. - Monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records, and ensure full compliance with awarding‑body and regulatory requirements. - Develop learners' sector‑specific knowledge, skills, and behaviours aligned to current industry standards. - Participate in internal quality assurance activities to maintain high delivery standards. - Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion. Essential Criteria Recognised teaching or assessing qualification (TAQA, CAVA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent). - Level 3 or higher qualification in Residential Childcare. - Experience delivering or assessing Residential Childcare qualifications. - Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload. - Confident using digital platforms such as Microsoft Teams and e‑portfolio systems. - Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for learner visits. Desirable Criteria Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance Award (IQA) or equivalent. - Experience delivering apprenticeships or adult learning qualifications up to Level 5. - Occupational competence within Residential Childcare settings. - Experience delivering training through blended or hybrid learning models.
