Principal Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer

What You'll Be Doing
As a key player in our Site Specialist Engineering team, you'll be at the forefront of setting engineering standards and ensuring excellence in electrical and control systems. Your responsibilities will include:
 * Establishing site engineering standards for electrical and control equipment/systems.
 * Providing expert advice on design standards related to electrical & control systems.
 * Reviewing electrical & control drawings, schematics, and design packages.
 * Acting as a subject matter expert, offering technical guidance for sitewide control systems.
 * Ensuring proposals meet design, construction, and operational standards.
 * Producing and maintaining engineering documentation, including technical reports and operating instructions.
Your Skills and Experience
Essential
 * Proven experience in an EC&I engineering role, with a focus on Control & Instrumentation.
 * Hands‑on experience with machine/crane control systems.
 * Familiarity with BMS systems and alarm/communication systems.
Desirable
 * Experience in functional safety design.
 * Understanding of Radio Frequency and EMC in an industrial setting.
 * Knowledge of FMECA (Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis).
 * A degree in electrical engineering or relevant experience.
 * Registration with an engineering professional institute, with the potential to achieve chartered status.
 * Demonstrated engineering experience in a technical role with transferable skills.
 * Experience in a Nuclear Environment or similar highly regulated business is a plus.

About the Site Specialist Engineering Electrical (SSE) Team
Join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary engineering team that sets the standards across Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil/Structural disciplines. In this role, you'll provide vital technical support in electrical engineering, covering HV/LV power distribution, control and instrumentation, alarms, and functional safety systems. Your expertise will ensure compliance with legislation and processes across a variety of projects and facilities.
