Our client is a respected and expanding accountancy practice in the Midlands, employing around 30-35 staff. They provide a full suite of services including accounts preparation, audit, tax, and VAT to a varied SME client base. With a practical and collaborative working environment, the firm is now looking to appoint an Accounts and Audit Senior / Assistant Manager to support continued growth.
This is a 50:50 split role between accounts preparation/tax and statutory audit. The ideal candidate will come from a small to mid-sized firm background, with 3-5 years' experience and confidence in handling SME clients across a range of sectors.
Accounts and Audit Senior/ Assistant Manager Job Overview
Accounts & Tax:
* Prepare year-end statutory accounts for SMEs
* Complete and submit corporation tax returns (CT600)
* Prepare and review VAT returns and personal tax returns (Self-Assessment)
* Produce management accounts and assist with bookkeeping tasks
* Review junior staff work and support client queries
Audit:
* Lead and assist on audit planning and fieldwork
* Prepare and maintain audit files and working papers
* Liaise with clients and internal teams to resolve audit queries
* Supervise and support junior team members during audits
