We have an exciting opportunity for a Sewer Connection & Alteration Technician to join the Developer Services team in the Customer Experience function at Yorkshire Water. You will play a key role in providing technical guidance and support to a range of customers and developers on sewer connections and alterations. Where you fit in: You will provide domestic customers, developers, approved inspectors and Local Authority Building Control (LABC) with a high level of technical advice, guidance and support in relation to minor sewer alterations, sewer connections, highway connections, building over a sewer, demolitions, stopping up notices requested through the new development process. You will ensure the integrity of Yorkshire Water assets is maintained and are compliant with appropriate guidelines and regulations (Code for Adoption / Building Regulation 2010 Approved Document H / Water Industry Act 1991 / Engineering Specifications). As part of the role you will - Undertake technical assessments View camera survey footage Prepare legal agreements (S.185) Conduct site visits Negotiate with domestic customers / developers Relationship management of LABC / Approved Inspectors Ensure accurate recording of data for regulatory compliance Review town planning permissions in respect of agreements and conditions to be discharged What skills and qualifications you will need: Technical knowledge and experience is required in relation to the principles of connecting to the public sewer network, designing a sewer network and sewer alterations. The design, operation and maintenance of gravity and pumped sewerage networks (foul and surface water). The operation of sewerage pump stations and network storage assets and sewerage engineering, construction methods and sewer hydraulics. Understanding of the Legal & Regulatory framework in which we operate- latest legislation (Water Industry Act, The Big Transfer) and guidance (Code for Adoption, CIRIA The SuDS Manual).
