Educational Support Worker - SEN
Location: NorthamptonStart Date: September 2025 | Full-Time | Permanent & Long-Term Opportunities

A number of specialist and inclusive SEN schools across Northampton are looking for Educational Support Workers to join their dedicated teams from September 2025. These full-time roles offer a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who need tailored support, helping them thrive both academically and emotionally.
About the Role:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health), and complex learning difficulties
* Assist pupils with classroom activities, sensory programmes, and daily routines in line with personalised learning plans
* Support behaviour management and promote positive, respectful interactions
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and support staff to ensure consistent, student-focused care
* Contribute to a nurturing learning environment that supports emotional regulation and independence
* Help with personal care and mobility where required (full training provided)
* Record progress and observations to inform EHCP targets and ongoing support
We're Looking For:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEND (in schools, youth work, care, or similar settings)
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach with a strong sense of resilience
* Good communication skills and the ability to build trust with students and staff
* A proactive attitude and willingness to adapt to meet individual pupil needs
* Understanding of safeguarding, inclusive practice, and person-centred support
* Relevant training or qualifications (e.g. Team Teach, Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, or Health & Social Care) are desirable but not essential - full induction and training available
