The Role
An opportunity has arisen within the NAFN Data and Intelligence Service, a team based in the Risk Management and Audit Services Section.
NAFN is one of the UK’s largest shared services, providing data, intelligence, and best practices to support verification, fraud investigations, and debt recovery for local government, housing associations, and other government agencies. Its customer base includes 480 member organisations with over 16,000 registered users.
The role requires you to become a fully accredited Single Point of Contact, providing expert guidance, support, and advice to members seeking access to various datasets. These include communications data under the Investigatory Powers Act 2016, vehicle data via the National ANPR System, data and intelligence to support criminal investigations under the Prevention of Social Housing Fraud Act 2014, and the Council Tax Reduction Scheme 2013. It is essential that NAFN and its members fully comply with relevant legislation and Codes of Practice.
About You
You will support the NAFN Leadership Team in the administration, management, and development of the service. Additionally, you will work as part of a team on activities and projects that maintain and develop the service further.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Security vetting procedures are required.
Note
The successful candidate must be an accredited Single Point of Contact. If not already accredited, we will fund a two-week residential course to obtain this qualification. Following accreditation, there is an expectation of a minimum of two years’ service in the Intelligence Officer post.
