About Isabel's

Isabel's Restaurant, Bar & Garden is a high-volume, fresh-food driven venue combining premium casual dining, a busy bar operation and a vibrant garden space. With 100+ covers and strong weekly trade across breakfast, lunch and dinner, our kitchen operates at pace while maintaining consistency and quality.

We are now recruiting an experienced Senior Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading a structured, professional kitchen team.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position within afresh food environment. Everything is prepared in-house with a focus on flavour, consistency and presentation.

You will be responsible for supporting daily kitchen operations, managing service standards, driving prep organisation, and mentoring junior chefs in a high-volume setting.

This role suits a strong Sous Chef ready to step up, or an established Senior Sous looking for a well-run, commercially focused operation.

What You'll Be Doing

* Supporting the Head Chef in leading a high-volume fresh food kitchen
* Running the pass during peak service and maintaining service flow
* Overseeing prep standards and batch consistency
* Ensuring all dishes leave the kitchen to spec and on time
* Managing stock control, ordering and GP targets
* Training and developing CDPs and Commis chefs
* Maintaining EHO compliance and food safety standards
* Assisting with menu development and seasonal updates
* Driving standards in cleanliness, organisation and mise en place

You will gain exposure across multiple sections including grill, sauce, pastry elements, batch prep and service management — offering a strong range of cooking exposure within one site.

What We're Looking For

* Minimum 3+ years' experience in a high-volume fresh food kitchen
* Experience at Sous or Senior CDP level
* Strong service control and ability to manage busy passes
* Proven ability to maintain standards under pressure
* Commercial awareness (wastage, stock control, labour efficiency)
* Strong team leadership and mentoring skills
* Level 2 Food Hygiene (minimum)
* Ambition and pride in delivering quality food consistently

Pay: £13.50-£15.00 per hour
