Renfrewshire Council is seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our dedicated Neighbourhood Services Taskforce. This frontline role is based at Underwood Road and focuses on the collection and safe disposal of fly tipping across Renfrewshire. As part of a responsive and mobile team, your work will play a crucial role in improving the local environment and maintaining clean, safe communities for our residents.
This is a fast-paced and varied role where no two days are the same. The fly tipping team responds to reports across the area, and work programmes can change daily depending on the nature and volume of incidents reported. Flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities are essential. You will also be expected to support wider Neighbourhood Services operations as required, which may include rotating across different depots and service areas in line with operational needs.
This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires effective communication skills, a flexible approach, and a commitment to high standards. You will be expected to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Experience of manual work including labouring duties is essential.
You should be prepared to work in all weather conditions. A flexible attitude is key, as the role may involve working across different locations and assisting with a range of Streetscene operations depending on the needs of the service.
Experience of dealing with the general public and business community is essential.
Knowledge of health and safety practices and experience working as part of a team in a similar environment is desirable.
You will be required to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
Please note that if you are successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check. The level of check will be determined based on the duties of the post. Further information about Disclosure Scotland checks can be found at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk .
