Job description:
Title: Mailroom Administrator
Hourly rate: £12.90ph
Contract length: 3 months
Location: Darlington, DL1
Shift: 8am to 4pm with a 30-minute lunch break (Monday to Friday)
Hours per Week: 37.5
About the Role
The Mailroom role is primarily desk-based and focuses on strong administrative skills and a high level of attention to detail. Responsibilities include preparing and scanning documents, as well as general mailroom duties.
The role also involves some physical activity, including lifting boxes of documents (up to approximately 12kg). While this is not required continuously throughout the day, candidates should be comfortable with regular lifting and walking while carrying boxes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Opening, sorting, and distributing high volumes of incoming mail on a daily basis
2. Processing cheques and other payment methods accurately and securely
3. Handling and inputting data into internal computerised systems
4. Working in line with strict data protection and security procedures
5. Following set processes and work instructions to meet client requirements
6. Managing and reviewing various types of documentation with accuracy
7. Supporting different teams including prep, admin, scanning, and indexing
Skills & Experience Required
8. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high accuracy
9. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
10. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
11. Good level of computer literacy
12. Confident handling different types of paperwork
13. Ability to follow instructions and adhere to processes

14. Ability to undertake manual handling duties
15. Willingness to complete mandatory training
16. Adherence to site rules, company policies, and procedures (including health & safety guidelines)
