Job Description
You will work within a small team on diverse projects, ranging from small to large-scale residential developments. Your role will involve active participation in all stages of design, including concept modelling, planning deliverables, technical drawing, and site work.
All projects are Net Zero Carbon by design, requiring you to undertake environmental modelling, carbon calculations, and sustainability strategies.
As part of a combined architectural and construction practice, you will engage with construction methodologies and strategies, taking an active role in planning construction phases, costing, specifying, and overseeing site progress.
This role suits individuals with a keen interest in the construction and delivery of projects and/or prior experience with post-planning duties.
Desired Software Experience
* Autodesk Revit & Revit Plugins — Some experience across all RIBA Stages 0-7, with technical experience and BIM Level 2 or an Autodesk certification preferred
* Lumion — Rendering software skills
* Adobe Suite — Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro skills
* Autodesk Forma — Not essential but preferable
Key Experience Required
* Minimum Part III UK qualification
* ARB registered
* Previous work in residential development at the planning or technical stages
* Modular / MMC / Offsite experience preferred, or a keen interest in Modern Methods of Construction (MMC)
* Previous experience with sustainable design and construction
Responsibilities
* Prepare, develop, and edit drawings, models, images, and other documents relating to the design under the guidance of the project leader or nominated architect
* Lead the creation of design and access statements
* Produce architectural drawings and models for planning and technical use
* Develop representations of design options for further discussion by the design team, where required
* Demonstrate thorough knowledge of and compliance with UK regulations and standards in residential design
* Show evidence of a strong design understanding, e.g., a good design portfolio
* Exhibit good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
* Use a variety of media in the development and documentation of a design project
* Maintain a flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working with a proactive mindset
* Work independently from home as needed
* Follow a hybrid working policy: 4 days in the office, 1 day work from home, with additional flexibility upon request
* Take initiative in response to direction or instruction
* Demonstrate the ability to understand design decisions taken by others
