Principal Clinical Psychologist for Stroke
Opportunity for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to develop and lead the psychology input to the recently expanded Integrated Community Stroke Service (ICSS) at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary community stroke team, providing rehabilitation up to six months post‑stroke within patients’ homes.
Responsibilities
* Provide consultation, training and supervision to staff on patients’ psychological and neuropsychological well‑being.
* Line‑manage and supervise Clinical Psychology colleagues.
* Design and implement care pathways and protocols to assess and manage mood and cognition difficulties in accordance with national guidance.
* Deliver specialist neuropsychological assessment and therapeutic services to adults up to six months post‑stroke within the home environment, including cognitive rehabilitation and coping adjustment.
* Liaise with hospital stroke ward and primary‑care colleagues.
* Run the service in line with national guidelines and engage in continuous professional development and networking for best practice.
Qualifications
* HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with substantive post‑qualification experience working with neurological conditions.
* Completed or currently enrolled in the Post‑Doctoral Diploma in Clinical Neuropsychology (or equivalent as approved by the Division of Neuropsychology).
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with a range of professionals, patients, and families.

Salary: 0.8 WTE. The role is permanent and may be offered on a secondment basis. Candidates must have achieved or be enrolled in the knowledge component of the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology.
