Job Overview
We are seeking a Maintenance Operative to join our team at Field House Care Home in Harpenden. As a Maintenance Operative, your primary responsibility will be ensuring that our facilities remain fully functional.
Job Details:
* Job Title: Maintenance Operative
* Location: Field House Care Home, 8 Townsend Road, Harpenden, AL5 4BQ
* Salary: £13.40 - £16.55 per hour dependent on experience
* Contract: Permanent Full Time, 40 hours per week
* Shift Pattern: Mon - Fri 8am - 4.30pm
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure that all health and safety and compliance checks are carried out using the provided digital systems.
* Action and close any tasks attributed to the Maintenance Manager or home highlighted on Bupa compliance management tools and software.
* Ensure that safety and cleanliness within the care home and grounds is to the satisfaction of Environmental Health, local Fire Authority requirements, Legionella Risk Assessment requirements and Health & Safety regulations.
* Ensure that all necessary maintenance and repair tasks are completed to a high standard, in a timely manner and offer value for money.
* Report defects, obtain quotes and manage repairs using Bupa approved contractors.
Requirements:
* A good understanding of building services including, heating, hot and cold-water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution, and plumbing.
* Sound understanding of building fabric and its maintenance.
* Practical experience of planned maintenance systems and record keeping.
* A full driving licence.
* A building/electrical/plumbing qualification or a minimum of 3 years hand on experience in property maintenance and general repairs.
