Job Title: Senior or Principal EC&I Engineer Location: Warrington or Nr Birmingham Contract Type: Contract or Permanent Work Pattern: Hybrid working Role Overview: A new opportunity has arisen for a Senior or Principal Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to drive technical excellence across complex projects for an independent provider of Nuclear Engineering and Manufacturing services in the UK. The Senior/ Principal will deliver EC&I design and engineering from Front-End Engineering through Detailed Design and project completion, working as part of a team of engineers to deliver technically compliant, cost-effective solutions on schedule. Key Responsibilities: Interpret design requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose EC&I solutions. Support and mentor a team of design engineers. Supervise, verify, and produce design deliverables, including electrical schematics, general arrangement drawings, cable schedules, functional and software design documentation, and O&M manuals. Ensure integration and coordination with other engineering disciplines. Manage the design lifecycle in line with UK H&S legislation and relevant standards. Contribute to Design Control Files, HAZOP sessions, and design reviews. Identify and manage bought-out plant and equipment. Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, and commissioning teams to optimise design. Implement design change control and manage contract variations as required. Deliver projects within budget and timescales. Essential Knowledge & Experience: HNC qualification or equivalent with extensive engineering experience. Proven experience managing engineers and design teams. Nuclear industry experience is desirable. Knowledge of British and European technical and legislative standards. Familiarity with IEC 61508 Safety Standards advantageous. Proficient in MS Office and CAD software (AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical).
