Pharmacy Logistics Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our team of Pharmacy Assistants at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, working within our distribution, logistics and dispensary teams.
The successful candidate will have evidence of a good standard of general education and have attained a GCSE grade C or above in Mathematics and English (or equivalent). If not already held, they will be willing to work towards achieving an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services within an agreed timescale, which will mean doing a proportion of work in your own time in order to achieve this.
Main duties of the job
You will carry out a whole range of Pharmacy Logistics duties including processing medication stock orders, providing a ward top‑up service, replenishing automated medication storage cabinets at ward level, stock control, goods receiving/storekeeping and delivery of medication to our wards and departments.
You will be expected to work effectively as part of our dedicated team, to work in a flexible manner and to undertake the full remit of the role.
Applicants must have an accurate and methodical approach to tasks as well as being conscientious, responsible and reliable, and must be able to work using their own initiative as well as working as part of a team.
Participation in the regular portering weekend rota and bank holidays is integral to this role.
Welsh Skills Desirable: Whilst the candidate does not need to have skills in Welsh, we will consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. This is not fluency; it is speaking & listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above, allowing basic conversations with patients about everyday health.

Qualifications
* Maths and English at GCSE or equivalent level.
Experience
* Experience of distribution/stock control systems.
* Previous pharmacy experience.
* Experience of working in a healthcare environment.
Skills
* Ability to follow and work to procedures and processes.
* Standard keyboard skills with basic computer literacy.
* Ability to organise and manage own time/tasks.
* Accurate and methodical in approach to tasks.
* Welsh Language Skills (Level 3 and above/B1) are desirable for this role.
