SEND Teaching Assistant
Rotherham
Full Time (Monday-Friday 8:30am – 3:30pm)

At Career Teachers we are currently working with a primary school in Rotherham who require a Teaching Assistant to work 1-1 with a suspected SEND pupil. They are looking for a resilient Teaching Assistant with strong behaviour management skills to join their successful team.
Your Requirements:
* Experience working with children and young people with additional learning needs such as non-verbal Autism on a 1-1 basis.
* A recognised teaching assistant qualification such as Level 2, Level 3 or a degree in education or transferable skills.
* Team Teach Training preferred, but not essential.
* Confident in managing challenging behaviours, defusing situations, and making a calm and positive environment for students to progress in.
* A calm, patient manner with a positive can-do attitude.
* Experience assisting non-verbal students using visual aids such as PECs and Makaton would be advantageous.
Your Role:
* You will be working with the class teacher and other members of support staff to ensure that the pupil receives the care required to cater for their unique needs.
* You must be able to build trusting and meaningful relationships and ensure that they are engaged in learning and activities.
* This is a full-time role starting this September, we are looking for a committed and passionate teaching assistant who is looking to join a successful team of practitioners and really make a difference!
