World Class Defence Organisation based in Bristol is currently looking to recruit a C++ Software Architect / C++ Software Engineer subcontractor on an initial 12-month contract. The role will be onsite, but a 4-day working week (Monday to Thursday) is acceptable.

C++ Software Architect / Software Engineer Job Description:
The team at the Bristol facility develops solutions for the next generation of Air Defence Systems, focusing on evolving products while maintaining a reputation for safety, performance, and dependability.
This is a hands-on role involving the design and development of Command and Control architectures and their instantiations for future products. It is ideal for a proactive Software Engineer who takes initiative.
Skillset/Experience Required:
1. A strong background in software engineering, including its realization and system-wide impact.
2. Experience in C++ programming.
3. Experience working with software architecture models.
4. Collaborative and open approach to development, with the ability to work well in a team and maintain momentum.
5. Experience across the entire software development process, from engaging with requirement authorities to automated target integration and validation, supported by effective documentation.
6. Knowledge of new tools, techniques, and approaches to improve processes, efficiency, and sustainability.
7. Experience with other languages such as Ada and QT.
8. Knowledge of Real-Time Multi-Threaded Applications.
9. Familiarity with standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C, IEC61508, and restricted coding standards like MISRA C.
