Overview
An opportunity has arisen within the Therapy Department at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust for an individual with a passion to make a difference to people on our inpatient wards based at Watford General Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Support patients in regaining function and independence on inpatient wards.
* Facilitate patient discharges from the hospital.
* Assist in ordering and using equipment to enable patients to leave the hospital safely.
* Accompany Occupational Therapists on home and access visits in the community.
* Maintain and improve the quality of therapy services as part of the elderly therapy team.
* Work Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, with approximately one weekend shift in every six weekends, followed by a rest day the next week.
Work Environment
The role is based in the elderly therapy team, comprising experienced static and rotational staff. The department is involved in projects to upgrade theatres at St Albans City Hospital, plan a new hospital at Watford, and develop a neighbourhood healthcare centre in Hemel Hempstead.
