To support and teach students (interns) with a range of learning disabilities on our award-winning supported internship programme, helping them progress into meaningful paid employment. Working with local employers and the London Borough of Hounslow, you will play a key role in shaping brighter futures for young people with disabilities.
You will be part of our Supported Learning team, based within our host employer's premises.
You will deliver the core employability curriculum, building confidence, skills, and independence so interns are fully prepared for the workplace.
You will work alongside a specialist supported employment job coach to maximise each intern's employment opportunities and ensure strong, sustainable outcomes.
You will work with young people and their families to identify strengths, interests, and aspirations, supporting skill development, job exploration, and successful job placement.
Working closely with our host employer teams, you will support interns to meet workplace expectations.
You will monitor attendance, maintain high-quality records, and collaborate with job coaches and support staff to secure positive academic and employment results.
You will also guide interns in developing professional habits including communicating absences, dressing appropriately, and using positive workplace communication, helping them build the confidence and responsibility needed to succeed in employment.
Disability Confident
A Disability Confident employer will generally offer an interview to any applicant that declares they have a disability and meets the minimum criteria for the job as defined by the employer. It is important to note that in certain recruitment situations such as high-volume, seasonal and high-peak times, the employer may wish to limit the overall numbers of interviews offered to both disabled people and non-disabled people.
