CAD Technician – Construction Design
Location: Newton Aycliffe
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 + Discretionary Bonus

We’re looking for a CAD Technician to join our team in Newton Aycliffe, producing technical drawings and material schedules for complex roofing and cladding systems. This is a hands-on, design-focused role where you’ll contribute to the full project lifecycle—from concept through to installation.
Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed 2D CAD drawings for façade, roofing, and cladding systems
Interpret project specifications, estimates, and site data into accurate construction drawings
Liaise with internal design teams, site managers, subcontractors, and engineers
Support material take-offs, scheduling, and design coordination for elements such as mansafe systems, drainage, and louvres
Attend project meetings and contribute to quality assurance and progress reporting
About You:
Experience as a CAD Technician or Draughtsperson in the construction or architectural sectors
Proficient in AutoCAD; 3D CAD experience desirable but not essential
HNC (or equivalent) in a construction, design, or engineering-related discipline
Strong communication and time management skills
Knowledge of cladding, roofing, and façade systems is advantageous
