GSL Education is seeking a motivated individual to join a welcoming secondary school in Romsey, Hampshire as an Academic Support. This role suits university students, graduates, or experienced teaching assistants interested in providing vital academic support.
In this role, you will collaborate with teachers and students to ensure learners receive necessary academic assistance. Your support may involve classroom help or targeted interventions to boost student confidence and progress.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
* Deliver one-to-one or small group academic interventions
* Assist teachers by modifying lesson content and materials
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback
* Maintain a calm, productive learning environment
* Encourage student confidence and independence
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience in education or working with young people is desirable
* CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ in Childcare, Teaching Assistance, or relevant degree preferred
* Current university students or graduates in Education, Psychology, or related fields are encouraged to apply
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A caring, patient, and encouraging approach
* Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
