We are passionate about working together to make a positive difference to the lives of adults with physical, learning disabilities and autism by staying in our respite service for short breaks. We want the people staying in our respite service to ‘have the best stay possible’ by providing them with a supportive and homely environment that is centred on their individual needs.

This is achieved by creating a happy and supportive environment which provides a safe, caring and learning experience which offers opportunities for the development of personal, living and social skills so that people with disabilities have the best quality of life possible.

We are looking to build a team of staff who can provide regular cover for daytime, night time shifts, overnight sleep ins and waking nights that will seamlessly feel part of the core team

What you will do:

- Support Adults with Disabilities to have their voice heard and support them whilst staying in respite and provide support that meets their needs
- Plan and implement activities with the person during their stay that they will enjoy and will also help them to develop skills such as cooking skills, shopping skills, going to the pub or a café, getting creative with crafts, swimming
- Support people staying in the respite service to be active members in the community
- Build positive relationships with family, friends and those who stay in respite to show that we care about what we do
- To work and communicate as part of a team
- Adapt your support style and develop skills to support the people who stay at the respite service

What we are looking for from you:
- To have the right values supporting Adults with Disabilities
- Ability to achieve QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care Adults in order to register with Social Care Wales as a Residential Support Worker.
- Motivation to implement interesting activities and developing skills
- Undertake training to gain skills to be able to effectively support all people with disabilities e.g. Makaton, Positive Behaviour Support, Active Support, Person Centred Thinking, Level 2 health related training skills
- An ability to be creative and open minded with support approaches for adults to reach their potential
- Have a friendly, trustworthy, and supportive nature with a positive outlook on life and be able to build positive and constructive relationships with families, friends and those staying in respite
- Have resilience, we all have our good days and bad days, you will need the ability to remain calm and supportive
- Ability to accurately record information and recognise and report any areas of concern

- Cynllunio a gweithredu gweithgareddau gyda’r unigolyn yn ystod ei arhosiad y byddan nhw’n eu mwynhau yn ogystal â’u helpu nhw i ddatblygu sgiliau megis sgiliau coginio, sgiliau siopa, mynd i’r dafarn neu gaffi, bod yn greadigol gyda chrefftau, nofio
- Cefnogi pobl sy’n aros yn y ganolfan seibiant i fod yn aelodau gweithgar yn y gymuned
- Meithrin perthnasoedd cadarnhaol gyda theuluoedd, ffrindiau a’r rhai sy’n aros i gael seibiant i ddangos ein bod ymfalchïo yn ein gwaith
- Gweithio a chyfathrebu yn rhan o dîm
- Addasu eich steil o gefnogi a datblygu sgiliau i gefnogi’r bobl sy’n aros yn y ganolfan seibiant

Yr hyn rydym yn chwilio amdano gennych chi:
- Meddu ar y gwerthoedd cywir yn cefnogi Oedolion ag Anableddau.
- Gallu ennill cymhwyster Lefel 3 mewn Iechyd a Gofal Cymdeithasol Oedolion ar y Fframwaith Cymwysterau a Chredydau er mwyn cofrestru â Gofal Cymdeithasol Cymru fel Gweithiwr Cefnogi Preswyl.
- Ysgogiad i roi gweithgareddau diddorol ar waith a datblygu sgiliau.
- Ymgymryd â hyfforddiant i ennill sgiliau i allu cefnogi pawb ag anableddau yn effeithiol, e.e. Makaton, Cefnogaeth Ymddygiad Cadarnhaol, Cefnogaeth Weithgar, Meddwl sy’n Canolbwyntio ar yr Unigolyn, sgiliau hyfforddi Lefel 2 sy’n gysylltiedig ag iechyd.
- Gallu bod yn greadigol ac agored eich meddwl parthed dulliau o gefnogi er mwyn i oedolion gyrraedd eu potensial.
- Bod gennych natur gyfeillgar, ddibynadwy a chefnogol gydag agwedd gadarnhaol at fywyd, a gallu meithrin perthnasoedd cadarnhaol ac adeiladol gyda theuluoedd, ffrindiau a’r rhai sy’n aros i gael seibiant.
- Eich bod yn wydn. Rydym i gyd yn cael diwrnodau da a rhai ddim cystal; bydd yn rhaid i chi allu aros yn ddigyffro a chefnogol.
