Our client, an established financial services organisation with a strong community focus, is currently seeking a Finance Assistant to join their team on a 6-month contract. This opportunity offers the chance to work in a collaborative and friendly finance department, based in newly built, purpose-designed offices in Market Harborough. Whilst the role is initially offered on a fixed-term basis, there is potential for it to become permanent depending on business needs and performance. Up to £26,000 dependent on experience Hybrid working 27 days annual holiday plus 8 bank holidays and birthday off Pension up to 5% employee / 10% employer Private health care Medical cash plan Holiday buy and sell scheme Working hours Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (35 hour working week) Duties and responsibilities: Maintain and reconcile fixed asset register Record acquisitions/disposals accurately Prepare and process BACS payment runs Update and post prepayments and accruals Distribute and resolve queries on expense reports Ensure Direct Debit invoices are received and recorded Produce monthly Recoveries report Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations Resolve issues with out-of-date cheques Process and post employee expenses and manual cheques Input transactions into HSBC.Net and Barclays.Net Assist with internal and statutory financial reporting Provide general administrative support to the Finance team Perform other duties as required Skills and experience required: Studying towards AAT qualification Previous experience of working within an accounting / finance environment (1 year) Strong Excel skills Problem solver, analytical and team player
