We seek a versatile and experienced Senior Process Engineer to manage projects from initial specification through to operational delivery, overseeing all Process Engineering design elements. The role offers flexibility in location, with options to be based at Preston or Risley, and may require travel between sites and customer locations.
Main Responsibilities
* Lead in developing Process Engineering designs to meet national and international standards within a multidisciplinary team.
* Author and review calculations, drawings, reports, and design memos.
* Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery.
* Coordinate with procurement to define requirements and work with suppliers.
* Support commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
* Design safe plants aligned with safety standards such as BS EN 61508, BS EN 60079, and BS EN 4126.
* Mentor junior engineers and guide their design activities.
* Identify and develop business improvements with discipline leads.
* Participate in employee development programs.
Essential Criteria
* Chartered Engineer.
* Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field with relevant experience.
* Experience in process plant design in regulated industries.
* Experience with HAZOP processes.
* Knowledge of relevant legislative, regulatory, quality, and environmental standards.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Problem-solving skills and solution-oriented mindset.
* Ability to obtain SC security clearance.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience in the nuclear sector.
* Self-motivated with high energy.
* Questioning attitude.
