Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse, ensuring that materials are handled, stored, and distributed effectively. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse processes and the ability to operate various equipment safely.
Responsibilities
* Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load and unload goods.
* Manage the movement of materials within the warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory levels.
* Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including checking shipments for accuracy and quality.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
* Assist with heavy lifting and transporting materials as required.
* Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory and manage stock levels efficiently.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to deadlines.
Qualifications
* Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of materials handling processes.
* Proficiency in operating forklifts; certification is an advantage.
* Familiarity with warehouse management systems for tracking inventory is beneficial.
* Mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Experience in construction or related fields is a plus.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the shift.
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills are essential for success in this role. Overview
The role involves carefully moving parts from transport stillages into line stillages with a forklift and overhead crane.
Ability to work as part of a team and a great attitude is key.
Applicants require a current counterbalance forklift licence and ideally at least 1 years' experience.
Overhead gantry crane experience is desirable but not essential as training can be given.
Working hours
Days afternoons alternating
First week Monday - Thursday 6am - 2pm Friday 6am - 12 noon
Next week Monday - Thursday 2pm -10pm Friday 12 noon - 6pm
Overtime available 6am -11am sat & sun
Rates
Overtime Monday -Fri £16.28 Sat £18.32 Sun £21.37
Afternoon shifts have an extra £1.23 shift allowance on basic hours.
Salary: £12.21 per hour
These rates increase after your 6-month probationary period.
