Overview
Personalised Learning Dorset are a dedicated mentoring and re-engagement service supporting young people in Dorset, Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and Wiltshire. We work with young people in their homes and communities as well as at our Blandford Hub to help them gain confidence and skills to take the next step in their educational journey.
We have created the brand new role of Learning Assistant to join the existing team of Outreach Mentors and Support Workers to deliver high quality interventions for the young people we support. We are looking for collaborative, resourceful professionals with a proven track record of working as part of a team to support young people with SEND and SEMH needs, who are excited to apply their skills in a new setting.
This role would be well suited to individuals with a background as a teaching assistant or support worker who are comfortable working on a 1:1 basis or as a small group leader. Applicants with experience delivering sporting, musical or art activities to young people are also welcome.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high quality interventions for young people supported by Personalised Learning Dorset.
* Provide 1:1 support or lead small group sessions.
* Collaborate with the team to plan and deliver activities and interventions that support SEND and SEMH needs.
* Utilise skills from teaching, support work, or activity delivery to engage learners effectively.
Qualifications and experience
* Background in teaching assistant or support worker roles is preferred.
* Confident practitioner with the ability to work as part of a team.
* Experience supporting young people with SEND and SEMH is desirable.
* Willingness to deliver sports, music or art activities is advantageous.
