An exciting opportunity has arisen within Maintenance for a Manufacturing Services Engineer - Automation to join our team in Washington (UK-BR).

Supporting the Manufacturing Services Leader to ensure the organisation’s objectives and goals are delivered. The primary task of this team member will be to lead and manage a multimillion‑pound high technology programme on behalf of the Manufacturing Services function, ensuring compliance to H&S standards and safe and effective commission of new machine tool technology.

The Manufacturing Services Engineer – Automation will take responsibility for coordinating, at plant or cell level, the Manufacturing Services organisations service lines, ensuring that all aspects of external Service Provider partnerships are delivered and monitored in line with business requirements.

What you will be doing:

In this role you will represent the Manufacturing Services function to implement significant multimillion‑pound automated tool project; commission of new assets by coordinating with various functions and external suppliers, ensuring compliance to HS&E control standards and regulations, while adhering to project deliverables. Interface between Rolls‑Royce and the supplier to deliver maintenance strategy and continuity plans, as well as:

* Work closely with the designated Manufacturing Services Leader to support operational activities, influencing and prioritising workload to help support production targets and functional KPIs, while implementing functional strategies.
* Support implementation of the company Health & Safety Standards which may include taking the role of Responsible Person (RP) or Assistant RP for specified activities.
* Responsible for asset management through full machine life cycle; identify and lead projects to improve asset availability and reliability.
* Coordinate designated aspects of external Service Provider partnerships delivered by Manufacturing Services, in line with business requirements and company standards.
* Support and lead a selection of Service Lines (e.g. engineering inspection, fixture care, energy management) at cell and plant level.
* Liaise with other Manufacturing Services Engineers within the company in order to deliver objectives and goals across the whole of Manufacturing Services.
* In conjunction with the business Risk Manager and Manufacturing Services Leader manage the Property Risk improvement plans.
* Understand the IT systems we use to drive our manufacturing services activities. Competent in the use of the tools to manage Manufacturing Service accountabilities. Can communicate using Digital tools.


Who we’re looking for:

For this role you will need to demonstrate understanding of the appliable health and safety.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

* Relevant experience in asset management in a coordinator role; experience supporting and delivering significant asset improvement or commissioning projects.
* Demonstrates ability to identify and communicate HSE risks, work compliantly to control standards, find pragmatic resolutions to HSE problems while putting Safety First.
* Demonstrates understanding of and ability to work to procedural requirements.
* NEBOSH or IOSH certificate desirable.
* Degree level qualification preferred.
* Has had experience in functional support groups.
* Has a proven track record delivering business results.
* Takes responsibility for their own development with particular focus on their communication skills.
* Has a good track record of negotiation and cooperation with external Service Providers.
* Has had experience of managing and coordinating external Service Providers.
