Job Title: Service Delivery Technical Buyer
Location: HM Naval Base, Portsmouth (HMNBP)

Salary: up to £37,000
Responsibilities
The Service Delivery Technical Buyer role plays a key part in supporting operations within Portsmouth Naval Base. Working with the Subcontractor Management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all quoting, purchasing and funding approval is managed accordingly to enable smooth operational delivery.
With the management of raising purchase orders for subcontractor activities, you’ll support building, base maintenance and waterfront service activities by ensuring requests are submitted to the MOD authority for funding approvals. By managing this process fully, you’ll also be responsible for raising purchase orders in accordance with KBS processes via our accounting system, control and manage the ordering and issuing of consumable stock for fast moving items and, identify opportunities to deliver increased efficiencies where possible, demonstrating value for money, when ordering materials.
You’ll Have
Maintenance contract experience in a similar environment, be familiar with KPI and STO reporting and have Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) knowledge and experience (desirable). With previous exposure to working with SAP Platforms, you’ll also be able to showcase previous experience in working with technical specifications and general purchasing.
About you
With a technically educated background (or equivalent demonstrable work experience) in purchasing / commercial in engineering disciplines within the facilities management environment, you’ll have excellent listing skills, coupled with the ability to plan and drive achievement through continuous improvement. It is also essential the Service Delivery Technical Buyer can demonstrate an organised approach to efficiency, and be able to delegate effectively whilst maximising resources.
