Our team manages a diverse range of services, including supported bus services, community transport initiatives, community rail partnerships, the English National Concessionary Travel scheme, and innovative transport projects. Together, we work to ensure accessible, reliable, and sustainable transport options for all residents.
We are looking for a Project Officer to lead and deliver complex projects and programmes that support the Council’s priorities. You will oversee planning, consultation, and implementation, manage risks, monitor progress, and ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget, and to a high standard. The role includes supporting project teams, preparing funding returns, maintaining compliance with governance and regulatory requirements, and producing reports and briefing notes to inform decision-making.
Who we are looking for…
The ideal candidate will have a Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience, with proven skills in managing complex projects and delivering service improvements. You will be confident working under pressure, managing competing priorities, and analysing information to make recommendations. Strong communication skills, the ability to manage budgets, and a customer-focused approach are essential, alongside a commitment to high-quality service delivery and equal opportunities.
