I’m looking for an experienced, hands-off Test Lead / Test Manager to join a leading local software consultancy, working on site at their long-term client in Corsham three days a week. Please note - To be considered, you’ll need to be a British citizen ideally with SC Clearance and ideally available to start within a month. The consultancy are a great client of ours and employs over 1,200 people in the UK with an office in Bristol (and in this case a client in Corsham) and are split into smaller specialist divisions with real autonomy. In this role, you’ll join at the start of building a brand-new Test Team, managing a team expected to grow to 7–16 testers. The team will focus on integration and end-to-end testing across projects. The environment is currently manual, with plans to introduce automation in the future. A strong foundation in manual testing, combined with a vision for modernising processes, will be key. This is a leadership-focused position where your impact will be felt across multiple projects. Your responsibilities will include: Setting direction for the new team, embedding best practices, aligning standards, and ensuring consistency of quality across workstreams. Mentoring and supporting testers as they are recruited. Working closely with project managers, developers, and client stakeholders to ensure quality is built into every stage of delivery. Ownership and delivery of the project’s Test Strategy and overarching test governance. Test planning and assurance of integration test activities for new or changed capabilities. Functional integration, end-to-end (E2E), and API testing. Test estimation of new workstreams/capabilities to ensure accurate project forecasts. Providing client-side assurance of third-party supplier testing. Collaborating with Business and Process Owners to derive and implement test cases representing high levels of coverage. Defect management and risk management across projects. Leading and mentoring a team of deployed test engineers. Test reporting, including monthly service outcome reports. Experience with ITSM, ITIL, and ServiceNow would be useful Implementing test automation (desirable but not essential). They are looking for an experience Test Manager, ideally with consultancy or defence sector experience and a proven track record of leading test teams on complex projects.
