This is the role
As a Financial Accountant at the AA Group, you will lead in delivering exceptional financial and accounting services. You will collaborate with the Financial Controller to manage accounting, financial reporting, and technical support within our Insurance Finance teams, ensuring governance, control, and accuracy of all financial data.
Responsibilities
1. Support month-end processes for the Insurance Division, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with deadlines.
2. Support internal financial control frameworks.
3. Work closely with the insurance finance teams and the business to provide insightful performance reporting.
4. Prepare and analyze month-end reports with commentary on financial results.
5. Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies.
6. Support financial due diligence and adhere to due diligence principles.
7. Assist with forecasts, budgets, and five-year plans.
8. Ensure the integrity of financial records and processes.
9. Produce regulatory reports such as RMAR for the FCA.
10. Improve financial processes and automate reporting where possible.
11. Liaise with external auditors and professional advisors.
12. Participate in ad hoc projects supporting the wider finance teams.
Requirements
* Proven stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience in an accountancy practice environment.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge.
* Numerate with excellent communication and report writing skills.
* Experience with systems like SAP, BPC, Trintech, and advanced Excel skills.
* Part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant, nearing completion.
* Graduate level education.
* Proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to work independently.
* Accurate, reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
* Commercially minded with strong interpersonal skills.
* Enthusiastic, ambitious, and able to meet deadlines.
