Team: Production, Project Engineering.
About the Role
The Control Engineer will provide an in‑house service for innovative solutions to process, re‑engineering, and continuous improvement projects with a specific focus on Control & Instrumentation. You will contribute to projects that support production growth, carbon reduction, safety, efficiency, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Management – manage and control capital projects including investigation, solution design, development, estimation, implementation, installation, and commissioning across Chivas Brothers Operations sites.
* Installation – specify, design, purchase, and supervise the installation of instrumentation and control systems (computer networks, PLCs, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, electro‑mechanical equipment). Assist in implementing Instrumentation and Control Engineering Standards.
* Technical Expertise – provide technical assistance to production and engineering departments in computing, instrumentation, control, and electronic systems.
* Continuous Improvement – support the development and implementation of standards and systems to promote continuous improvement in CAPEX execution and ensure legislative compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
* Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) with industrial experience.
* Strong understanding of PLC systems, including I/O, programming, and graphics.
* Knowledge of instrumentation for setting up, fault‑finding, and calibration; ability to operate PC to access PLCs and diagnose faults.
* Awareness of industrial communication protocols and cyber security, with a commitment to Health & Safety legislation.
* Full UK driving licence.
